NCHS School Counseling Department
The School Counseling Department at Nelson County High School is available to assist students, and their parents/guardians, throughout their high school career. Students are assigned to counselors alphabetically according to the last name. We hope you will find useful information pertaining to college, scholarships, college visits, military opportunities, testing, and much more. Please feel free to contact us at any time. Mission
Nelson County High School Counseling will work with students, families, and colleagues by providing a comprehensive and developmentally age-appropriate school counseling program that is aligned with the Virginia State Standards and ASCA National Model to support the academic, career, and personal/social development experiences that enhance school success, promote lifelong learning, and prepare students to become contributing citizens in society.
Vision
Nelson County High School Counseling will advocate for students by implementing programs and interventions directing towards development of social, emotional, career and academic skills needed to be engaged, well-rounded, socially conscious citizens with the confidence and resilience to reach his or her personal and professional goals in the 21st century.
