NCHS CTE Highlight on Horticulture: NCHS offers four Horticulture classes - Introduction to Horticulture, Floral Design, Landscaping, and Plant Production. Horticulture is the science and art involved in the cultivation, propagation, processing, and marketing of ornamental plants, flowers, turf, vegetables, fruits, and nuts. It is unique among plant sciences because it not only involves science and technology, but it also incorporates art and principles of design. These classes are work based learning classes that require students to participate in hands-on, real world agricultural topics and projects. Students regularly work in the NCHS greenhouse, inside, and outside - all year long.
